Are there any viable DNA samples that we can harvest for cloning purposes?

The extinction of the thylacines was unnecessary, but while they were definately on the decline, (estimated 5,000 in the eary 1800's ) humankind sped up their end. Many tigers died due to diseases that were carried by the settler's dogs. The farmers hunted the remaining animals because of their fear of the thylacines killing livestock, like the wolves and coyotes that the farmers were used to. The Tasmanian government issued a bounty for each animal dead. The bounty was reversed, and the species became protected when people realized that the animals could no longer be found in the wild. 60 days after the protective bill passed the last known tiger died.
