We also allow companies to lobby the government for weak labor regulations, allow companies to solicit for illegal labor, companies then use illegal labor without harsh repercussions, American citizens benefit from lower prices on their goods while not losing any opportunities due to them considering illegal jobs low-end, and then get mad at foreigners for being a cog in a machine that WE set up and allow. Illegal immigrants are illegal because it's beneficial to American companies they don't have the protections a normal worker has. I.e. illegal immigrants are the victims in this situation with out even considering breaking up families.
I spoke with a Libyan gentleman the other night. He is a PhD student, and I asked him which part of the country he planned to seek work in, and he said it didn't matter to him he was just to be safe and alive because back in Libya society has destabilized to the point of armed neighborhood militias being the only govt presence.
