I didn't know that animals could get depression until my dog miscarried all her pups, seeing her try to nurse her not even fully formed babies was the most heart wrenching thing I've witnessed. She wouldn't eat or play after that, it took a lot of time to get her to just eat as she was beginning to be just skin and bones (I would cook her our meat as she wouldn't touch kibble). I fortunately I did manage to get her out of her depression but it took a long time and that ordeal changed her ( she was super friendly but now she's extremely aggressive towards everyone but family). I couldn't risk her going through that again so I got her sterilized and like the sweet pupper above she got a puppy she could raise as her own.
