Love how Republicans still cling to the notion they are the party of Abraham Lincoln when the party has been diametrically opposed to everything Lincoln stood for, for decades.

He's just coming to this conclusion now?

Here's what another life-long Republican said a few months before the election. What did he know that Schmidt didn't?

"I am endorsing Hillary, and all her lies and all her empty promises. It's the second-worst thing that can happen to this country, but she's way behind in second place. She's wrong about absolutely everything, but she's wrong within normal parameters."

A lot of people are blaming Schmidt for where the republican part is now (and rightfully so). But it'd still be great to see a wave of republicans jump ship and form a more moderate party. This would accomplish two things:

1) Draw organized support away from Trump.

2) Open the voting system more so that other minority/3rd parties can participate more evenly.
