Years ago my brother was hit by a car that was speeding and left him there. My brother is epileptic so he had back to back seizures on the scene. So the emt's rushed him to one of the best hospitals in the city. And from there he was sent to another hospital where he continued to have multiple seizures regularly. I was told he suffered a massive head injury. That caused him to lose his hearing in both ears as well as losing his memory. He also had a broken arm and nine of his ribs were broken, as well as both of his legs.

And it was a touch and go situation because the amount of seizures he was having. The doctors really didn't think he was going to make it and I was devastated. When I finally was able to see him in the hospital he looked at my mom and said "excuse me miss who is that girl and why does she look so sad?". I nearly lost it took everything in me to keep my composure. My mom would spend days with him in the hospital praying. And when we heard he was definitely going to make it we were so grateful. But then there was the other issues the hospital was making plans for him to learn sign language. And to get him a wheelchair and therapy and doctors to work on restoring his memory.

And we was planning to do whatever it took to help. But one day my mom called me crying. And my heart sank I didn't know what to think. she told me to wait and gave the phone to my brother. Waiting for someone to say something i said "hello" to get a response. And he responded "(my name) is that you?, Hey how are you? did mommy tell you what happened to me?" I cried like a baby he could hear and knew who I was. Took a minute for his memory to return and he still have moments where he can't remember things. But he can hear perfectly now and is able to walk on his own. So this post hits me right in the feels.

Tldr: my brother was hit by a car which resulted in us being unsure if he was going to make it. And suffered a lot of massive injuries that we didn't know if he would over come. But he made it through it all.

Edit: I forgot to say my family was forever grateful for the woman who was driving by. For calling for help and staying with him comforting him. If it was not for her I would not have my brother here today.

And also for the security who drove around until he found where we were. And waited for my mom to get off of work and drove her to the hospital.
