This just happened in front of my house to my neighbor’s mailbox on Monday, the guy drove off and never came back. The terrible thing is it has to have been one of our other neighbors since we live in a gated community (not a fancy one though).
Reminds me of the time we had someone work on the piping in our bathroom because the bathtub was leaking water really badly. Guy was moving something and accidentally broke the toilet bowl. He immediately went and bought a new toilet. Funny enough we already had one in the garage when he finished fixing the bathroom he just didn’t know so we told him to quickly return the one he got and get his money back. Really nice gesture though.
This happened to a neighbor of mine a few years back. It was on a semi busy street with the mailboxes right by the road. I guess the guy wasn't paying attention for a second and completely took out the mailbox. He was extremely apologetic and he said he would go to Home Depot right away and come back to fix it. He looked like a working class guy and drove a pick up truck. I remember being struck because this guy stopped in the middle of his day to right his wrong as soon as possible. He fixed it and the new mailbox looked even better.
