If you make a copy with the lid open, light makes dark, and since your head isn't flat on the glass, and isn't sized like paper, you get a dark background, not white.

So the result looks like this.

And since the scanner moves relatively slowly, with a bit of trial and error, you can roll your head on the glass and do shit like this. Which is a great way to kill time and waste resources when you work in phone support
