Sweat glands don't reproduce in scar tissue. This is why regulating body temperature is very important for victims of serious body burns as they can no longer maintain temperatures normally.

My father burnt his entire leg third degree when he was 16 (working in a shop covered in oil and smoking a cig like a fucking idiot)

he caught fire and a random dude grabbed his jeans to pull them off and his skin was already melted to the jeans.. degloved his entire leg.

We call it the Barbie leg because it’s super shiny and there aren’t any pores on it. He can’t sweat out of it either. People legit think it’s a fake leg when they first see it.

(Edit) So many of you want to see my fathers shiny, plastic looking leg. He’s pretty self conscious of it (he only wears jeans) only times I see it is when we are at the lake. I’ll try to get a picture from him soon. My father is basically the real life hank hill and he will probably be confused.
