A passerby shot and killed a man who went into a Lake Hefner restaurant Thursday evening and opened fire.
Oklahoma City Lt. Jeff Flaggert said officers responded about 6:30 p.m. to Louie's Grill and Bar, 9401 Lake Hefner Parkway, where the shooting had occurred.
Capt. Bo Mathews said a man, whose name has not been released, went into the restaurant and opened fire, wounding two people. After leaving the restaurant, the suspect was confronted by a person who was armed with a gun and opened fire, fatally striking the suspect.
Two people were taken from the scene in emergency status to OU Medical Center, said Lara O’Leary, spokeswoman for Emergency Medical Services Authority.

Lots of people making assumptions ITT which turned out to be false. It was woman and her daughter shot while at the other child's birthday party. The shooter was confronted outside and told to lay down his weapon, he made a move, and got shot.

Family accounts say the shooter was in the treeline, and the women were shot as they were entering the restaurant.
This is Dennis Will (father to one, grandfather to the other). I'm just realizing now that many of the news reports never said the victim came inside and then fled out the front door. Most of what I was reading with that information was people repeating it in the comments. It's possible this guy never came inside, but was shooting people in the doorway.
Some of the early reports say that police said the guy came inside --video and tweet--, shot the two people, and left. But why did he come inside to shoot two people in the doorway?
Again, conflicting reports though and information is scarce until they confirm it.
9 minute video of local news report embeded in article. They had 100+ witnesses, the tree line is 20-30 feet from the front door. That news article says the police were checking the front of the building for bullet holes, but that could have been from when the suspect was shot, or when the suspect shot the woman and her child.
EDIT 5/25 morning:

Next morning reports after interviews with witnesses are updating to say that the man never entered the restaurant. He shot at the women from outside the building. The suspect was identified, 28-year-old male. The citizens who stopped him were identified (two of them), a 35-year-old male and a 39-year-old male.
OKCPD has a press conference at 1130 local time (that's 90s minutes from this post). They did release the following incident report onto Twitter showing 3 total victims hit by suspect's gunfire, 1 injured (man tripped and broke his wrist) male, and two "involved parties" (the shooters who stopped him).

“one person fleeing the scene suffered a broken bone in his arm.”
So, a broken arm then?

This is down the street from my house, less than a mile...... all I’ve heard for hours is helicopters basically on top of my house. Freaky for sure.
