Little known fact: Annie Oakley met her husband before she became a sharp shooter. He was a traveling sharp shooting showman and one of his ways to drum up business was to challenge townspeople to shooting competitions. She beat him.
He eventually quit sharp shooting so she could get all of the attention. They remained married until death finally parted them decades later.

My grandfather (who was born in 1899) had great memories of seeing her perform in the Buffalo Bill Show. So cool.
