The U.S. Attorney's Office said an Upstate man has been indicted in a murder-for-hire plot.
Officials said 25-year-old Brandon Cory Lecroy of Nation Road in Hodges was indicted for solicitation to commit a crime of violence and use of interstate commerce facilities in commission of murder-for-hire.
According to the indictment, Lecroy made an arrangement with who he thought was a hit man to pay for the murder of his neighbor. During the conversation in March 2018, officials said Lecroy told an undercover agent, "$500 and he's a ghost."
He is also accused of requesting a "flaming cross" be put in the front yard and to hang his neighbor from a tree, the indictment states. He later told the agent he wanted to a 9mm "ghost gun" that could be untraceable, the FBI said.
The Associated Press reports that Lecroy contacted the undercover agent through a white supremacy organization.
The agent said Lecroy advised he had other targets he wanted killed as well. Officials said Lecroy put down a $100 down payment for his neighbor's murder.
According to online jail records, Lecroy was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Apr. 10.
Lecroy, if convicted, could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

$500 to kill someone and hang them out in the open and put a burning cross in their yard?? I have no idea what a hitman costs but this seems crazy cheap. I hope he stays in jail for a long time, this POS had plans to kill more people.
