GILES COUNTY, Tenn.--The Giles County Sheriff's Office reports nearly $1 million of cancer drugs were stolen with a semi truck on Thursday.
The department says deputies responded to the Pilot Truck Stop at 9211 Lewisburg Highway after the driver reported he stopped to fuel up but when he exited the store his truck was gone.
Based on surveillance video, investigators say the victim was followed by a Red Volvo semi. Once at the stop, a person exited the Volvo and stole the victim's semi, driving south on I-65.
On Friday, police found the stolen truck but the drugs are missing. Police say the semi was carrying approximately 1,300 vials of Octagam, a medication used by cancer patients. The drugs were bound for Dothan, Alabama and have an estimated worth of $965,000.
A photo of the stolen truck (pictured) has been released and investigators are asking anyone who may have seen another truck with the one pictured to call the GCSD at 931-363-3505.

The best part of this will be the insurance claim by the responsible party. The insurance will typically only reimburse the variable cost of the medication, not sticker retail value. If no insurance is claimed it will give you an idea how cheap the drug was to make.
