Welp... obama later said the very common phrase “you can put lipstick on a pig...” basically talking about how you can pretty up a problem, but it’s still a problem.
Gov. Palin took major offense because the common theme of lipstick. She “thought” obama was calling her a pig. Senator McCain got offended too. Because, well, his running mate got called a pig.
I remember this because Jon Stewart of the daily show then played a 10 minute clip of all the times Senator McCain and Gov. Palin said “lipstick on a pig...”
