The color palette of "brown", "light brown", "dark brown" and "black" with some spots of gold or red makes for an incredibly uplifting theme.

The cars in the foreground are Austin London Taxis. The one on the left is from the late 1930s and the two on the right are from mid 1930s. The outbreak of war ended manufacture of any new taxis until 1948.

The photo was taken from Piccadilly Circus looking up Shaftesbury Ave.

I was reading earlier today about George Bush Sr. and how he was born in 1924, and when I saw this I immediately thought "so he would have been 25 when this was taken."

It just amazes me that there are people still alive today who were not only living, but enjoying as adults, the world in this picture.
