During the first great sandwich war, when violence between breaded meals escalated past the point of a resolution, increased pressure on all sides led to the creation of new weapon technology that far surpassed anything previously in existence. When the trench warfare within the crust pits resulted in too many mutual casualties, different sandwich nation states began to experiment with heavier artillery. The recently merged Kingdom of Jelly and the Republic of Peanut Butter were the first to escalate warfare with the induction of the first armored battle turtle with shell mounted PB&J firing rail gun. Not long after this did we see the introduction of many new technologies, including hoagie zeppelins, French dip bombing Albatrosses (with Au Jus chemical dispensing canisters), and of course the Alligator Reuben amphibious attack vessels.
