Cary Elwes and Jake Busey have been officially announced as guest stars of the new series of Stranger Things.

The two actors will have recurring guest roles in the new series, which will be aired in 2019.

Cary, who will be known to most as Dr Lawrence Gordon in the Saw Franchise and Westley in the Princess Bride, will be taking on the role of Mayor Kline.

Mayor Kline has been described as ‘handsome, slick, and sleazy, more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs’.

Jake, the son of Gary Busey and Judy Helkenberg and star of the From Dusk Till Dawn TV series, will play the enigmatic character of Bruce.

Bruce is a journalist for the The Hawkins Post with questionable morals and a sick sense of humour.

Netflix announced the new additions to the cast today at their annual See What’s Next Event in Rome, Italy.

The new residents of Hawkins, Indiana comes shortly after it was revealed that the four children leading the cast will be making serious BANK thanks to their hit roles in the nostalgic sci-fi fave.

TMZ obtained docs that confirmed Gaten Matarazzo, who plays wise cracking, yet adorable Dustin Henderson, will earn between $200,000 (£141,000) and $250,000 (£176,000) per episode – which isn’t bad for a 15-year-old.

Gaten’s pay rise came as a selection of his co-stars – including members of the adult cast like Winona Ryder and David Harbour – smashed their fists on the table and negotiated a better paypacket ahead of the next round of filming.

This is cool news. I have loved all the veteran actors that the show has brought on.

I haven't seen Jake Busey in anything of note since Starship Troopers.

Cary is more 80s nostalgia than I could have ever hoped for
