What they consider "fraud" is mostly desperate, employed people who work full time but make $16,000 a year as an individual clinging to the food stamps they used to qualify for because they can get a whopping $150 a month to help buy groceries. That, ladies and gentlemen, is fraud. But not accounting for billions of lost taxpayer money (pentagon), making up reasons to bomb Iraq and Syria, and storing billions outside of the USA to avoid paying taxes while still enjoying all of the publicly-funded infrastructure that allowed them to accumulate wealth - these things are not fraud, just good business. Poor people making the same decisions are punished. Rich people are patted on the back and rewarded. I say we answer this by increasing food stamps for everyone currently on them and making them accessible to anyone with and an icome of less than $100,000 a year.

"Food is a human right."

Why is U.S. the only country on the planet where this is a controversial statement?

People love to point out that people will take advantage of assistance programs, but there will always be people who use everything and everyone around them, but it's a small price to pay in exchange for helping the majority that really need the help.
