There are legitimately some people who think that because the Armenians fought back, it wasn't a genocide.
*Also, I think this image is from 1895
After a search, they are referred to on Alamy as fedayi, which would indicate they are from the time of the Hamidian massacres.

Do the Turks deny the genocide simply to save face? You know, like the Russians deny used to deny the Katyń massacre?
