I gave a girl in my Malagasy village a small lego set. She came back and asked if what she made was “okay”.

The Malagasy (French: Malgache) are an Austronesian ethnic group native to the island and country of Madagascar.

Just in case someone else is as uneducated as I.

More creative than me. I'd just stack them one on top of the other and see how far I could go before it falls apart.

I run a program for orphans and street children in eastern Rwanda. Someone recently donated a box of k'nex to us and our kids are going crazy over them. I only wish we had more than one box for all 100 of them to share. Right now they're using them in turns and the younger kids are awfully impatient, but their creativity is pretty impressive considering they've never played with them before.

Edit: Oh my goodness, I can't believe the response this is getting. Thank you all so much for offering to send us more k'nex and for the donations to help out our boys and girls.

For those of you getting virus warnings on our website, I apologize for that. We were hacked recently and although I completely rebuilt our website some detectors are still getting triggered, but I promise that we're safe. I want to write all of you to thank you but I'm only one guy running the charity so please be patient while I do my best to respond to all of you who have offered help. It seems we now have plenty of offers of k'nex so if you might consider making a cash donation instead we will be very grateful.

Finally, Piss_artist is Brit vernacular for a smart ass, in case anyone is wondering. Perhaps I should have created another name before posting but I didn't expect this response.

Edit 2: Okay I want all these k'nex, but I'm currently in Rwanda and I'm trying to work out where in the US I should have you all ship them to. I will reply to each of you who offered with an address in the morning, and I will happily share photos of the mountains of k'nex I expect will pile up.

Again, thank you all for helping our kids!
