Since we’re sharing weird stories of car theft, my buddy once had his car stolen from his work parking lot on Christmas Eve. It was returned the day after Christmas, locked, with 50 more miles on it. Apparently some people steal cars to visit family on Christmas and then return them.
My son and I are members of this tennis club. One day there was a big event on so I walked out during the day to get some food. Walking back I notice this woman casually walking through the car park. She notices me, then turns around and (even more casually than before) tries to open a car door. Then she acts like her remote control must have failed.

Update: security have got him on CCTV doing it to several other cars but couldn't see if he actually broke into any. Cops were on their way
