I was 10 when I realized people with no bangs had grown them out, not cut them off.

You look ready to begin your apprenticeship at the Schrute Beet Farm.

If it makes you feel better, there was a girl in my middle school who had the same train of thought. Except she cut her bangs ALL the way down to her scalp.

When they started growing back out they grew straight up like a zebra mane. I want to clarify I mean 2-3 inches sticking straight up, not just a few little spikes, and in the final weeks it was curling backwards like a reverse wave.

One of my friends (a saint, even in middle school) politely offered her a barrette clip and said "I've been clipping my bangs back while I wait for them to grow out, it helps keep them out of the way!"

The girl got angry and tried to fight her.
