People moan about the NHS. But it has kept my dad alive for the past year, with cancer trying to kill almost every organ he has. Today he got to spend the day with my mum. And never once have we had to make the hard choice between what we can afford, and keeping him alive. Thank you all.

Nothing makes me proud to be British more than the NHS.

Having lived in the UK coming from Canada - people should not complain about the NHS. I think pretty much every healthcare system has its issues but I was really impressed with the level of care.

My only gripe was waiting times for referrals but it’s the same in Canada.

Glad your dad had a great day! He looks great!

You know, I read some comments on FB from Americans discussing the fact they couldn’t afford an Asthma inhaler, I often lose mine and just think ‘I’ll just go to the doctors and get another one’. It made me realise how damn lucky we really are in the UK. The thought of not being able to afford medicine for my children would kill me.
