Go to your local dollar store or Dollar tree and get the gel super glue there. It's a well known thing in the aquarium hobby that it works just as well and we use it underwater. I think you get to for a dollar.

Makes no difference because after about the third use the cap will be so crusted with superglue that you'll need dynamite to take it off.
