Serious question: wasn't "eating ass," at some point, a euphemism for taking a tumble? I could've sworn I used the term about a decade ago and everyone did too.
Yeah, it sounded odd when using it back then, but I thought it was an accepted term, at least for a short bit.
EDIT: I am idiot. It indeed was "eating shit" and not "ass."

I work with the elderly and one of them says "they really ate my ass out" instead of "chewed my ass out" and I don't have the heart to correct them.
