Its crazy because some other life forms might see in UV vision and to them "our big ball of fire" is neither a ball nor made of fire. Puts into perspective how unique the human experience is.
I think this is a combination of many wavelengths in the UV range?
Here are many other "faces of the sun" from the Solar Dynamics Observatory and comments on what they attempt to capture. Third from the top left matches what one would see. If your eye would be in space and it could see the full range without the sun making you blind.
