Hey guys, I need to inform about this right away - the photo is a long exposure and northern lights did not look like this that night. They were barely visible. What this means is that the camera spent 30 seconds to gather and capture all the light it could in the sky. That is why you also can see a green glow on the left side and disappearing sunset on the right side. The settings for the camera were: ƒ/2.8 at 30s with ISO 1600. I of course used a tripod to keep it all still.

The long exposure is also the reason for why you can see so many stars. In the full resolution of the image you can see that the star dots are blurry, which indicates rotating earth (what u gotta say bout that Kyrie Irving?? jk, please come shoot ball with me).

The location is Lofoten, Norway. This is a remote beach called Myrland. There is a small settlement on the left side and there is a road that you can drive to this place, but it has suffered from rock avalanches and been closed many times. We met some sheep in the dark while driving, blocking the road. Scared the crap out of me. Opened the window and for some reason started shouting "get outta here!" in Italian accent. I think I just miss good mobster movies.

Anyway, some processing was done to this photo, namely brightnening of the exposure and some clarity to bring forth the northern lights more. If you like this and want to see more, feel free to drop by my my home or instagram. Cheers!
