I remember that post. Really sad that the farm will leave the family. Make sure the document doesn't. It's a piece of history and its sentimental value far outweighs any monetary value.

Unless someone offers you, like a million dollars or something. Then sell the living shit out of it.

Very interesting and your family history is something to be proud of.

Not to take away from your story, but this land deed was signed by William O. Stoddard (whose name and signature appear in the bottom right), who was appointed for this very purpose. Here's an article on the practice and how you can differentiate from an actual Lincoln signature vs. ones by Stoddard.
