These are crunchy but can be made chewy for normal people. Replied to u/career_whatcareer with a more dedicated chewy recipe!

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature (or, melted for chewy cookies!) 3/4 cup white sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 large egg, beaten 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 – 1 tsp salt, depending on whether butter is salted and preference. I recommend more! 2 1/4 cups flour 2 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees, and prepare a few ungreased cookie sheets.

Whisk together the butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in the baking soda and salt.

Slowly stir in the flour, then finish mixing the dough with your hands. Add the chocolate chips and mix until well-incorporated.

Shape into little balls (like maybe a large marble), and arrange with ample space on your cookie sheets.

Bake for at least 15 minutes, or until deeply golden to ensure a good crunch once cooled* ...*But if you are not making them for a crazy person, try 5-10 minutes instead for chewy.

Man, I would eat them way too quickly to have a stash. I am a sugar addict.
