That is a solid hug

This did indeed make me smile, but I keep getting very distracted with that excellent gluteus. It's really quite spectacular.

The guy in the foreground giving a hug in a black t-shirt is Andrew Marin who started an organization called The Marin Foundation. The guy in the background, whose arms you can see but whose face you cannot, is Nathan Albert who wrote a blog post and then a book about his experiences.

I've gone to Pride with the Marin Foundation. As a white Christian male married with two kids living what looks like a stereotype I think it's critical that, regardless what we hold in our personal moral ethic, we leave space for those who disagree. This includes everyone from Christians who think homosexuality is an abomination to LGBTQ+ people who think Bible thumping Christians are an abomination.

This photo will always make me smile because it will always remind me of two of my friends/mentors/acquaintances and the power of love to break down seemingly insurmountable barriers.

We could use a bit more love these days.

EDIT: In addition to those resources, check out "Exclusion and Embrace" by Miroslav Volf. If I were king of the forest, it would be assigned reading.
