For reference, here’s a couple things Hyperion is bigger than: 75’ taller than the Statue of Liberty, 70’ taller than Big Ben, 20’ longer than a football field.

Crazy to think of all the world history that has taken place since it took root...

Up in Alaska we had "The furthest North tree" ... some asshole with a chainsaw cut it down. Fucking dick.

That was on the Haul Road near Atigun Pass.

The tree in the photo is not actually Hyperion. Hyperion is in a dense forest and you can not tell it is any taller than the surrounding trees. This photo shows another large redwood growing in a forest which was logged probably 80 years ago or something. Cool picture but not a picture of Hyperion.
