In the hockey world we would refer to Kap as a real beauty. A very classy move.

Honestly, this makes a difference. When I had to go to court when I was in school all I had was a shitty blue dress shirt and my friend (who I might add was responsible for my going to court) let me wear his jacket at the last minute and it really boosted my confidence, and I’d like to say helped the judge lessen the amount of community service I had to do. Even if it didn’t, the boost of confidence helped ease the anxiety I had the whole time.

I'm not very much into sports, but I happen to know of Colin Kaepernick because we were both raised in the same town. When his career took off, everyone in town was super excited. When his activism started to show, it wasn't a surprise that a large number of folks from our somewhat conservative town pretty much turned on him.

Personally, I couldn't be prouder of him. I genuinely wish him good fortune in his life. As far as I'm concerned, he's one of the few legitimately good things to have come out from our shared neck of the woods.
