Hey im the Nor'easter guy from yesterday! This is from my trip to Lake O'Hara in the Canadian Rockies. This is possibly the most difficult area to get access to in the rockies because of their camping reservations system. You can either A: Call in at 8am 90 days before your date and hope to get through (doesn't happen often), B: Check cancellations and spam the phone line when one comes up for your date. or C: Walk the fire road 7.5 miles to the trailhead. I chose B, and man was I lucky!

This was from the very first hike of the night. We boarded the bus at 3:00PM and headed to our campsite. As soon as we had everything set up, we headed to this overlook because of it's orientation relative to sunset. The skies were mostly clear, but the smoke from nearby wildfires created some beautiful and extremely dramatic light.

After putting my eyes back into my head you I hiked farther into the valley. There was an abundance of plant life and blue tinted glacial streams cascading down red tinged rock waterfalls. If you are lucky you may see some mountain goats or even a bear. I wasn't so lucky. My brain was in overload because it had to process all of this while being in the middle of a massive valley surrounded by some of the most dramatic peaks I had ever seen (I'm from Maine). This was a "pinch me, I think I'm dreaming" moment if I have ever had one.

Have an up-vote for it not being Yosemite or Zion

Don't want to steal any karma, but here's a different perspective on the Wiwaxy Peaks:

I was probably standing in almost the same spot.
