Okay this is very confusing.

There are Arabians, meaning from the arabian penninsula.

Then there are Arabs, which means apart of the Arab world, which basically means the areas that the old arab empires conquered and spread their language.

Arab is, in many ways, a linguistic thing more than an ethnic one. North Africans are arabs but they are VERY genetically different than people from arabia.

The Arab world includes berbers, somalis, sudanese, egyptians etc.

They are sort of sub-groups of the arab world. They are both simultaneously Arab and whatever sub group they are. Some groups identify more with the Arab terminology than others, for instance Libyans call themselves Arabs more often than say, Somalis.

A good example would be Russia. There are Russians, the ethnic group. Then there are the various sub ethnic groups within Russia. They are nationally and linguistically Russian, but are ethnically something else as well. They are both, simultaneously. For instance where I am from in chechnya, you are both chechen and russian for the most part. You might speak Russian, engage in some Russian customs, live in Russia etc. But you are also Chechen.
