(CNN) Trenton Lewis' legs ached from the 11-mile walk he made every morning to get to his 4 a.m. shift. And yet the 21-year-old dutifully did it for seven long months.

He didn't tell anyone. He's never been one for excuses -- especially when it comes to providing for his 14-month-old daughter, Karmen.

"My pride is strong," he told CNN. "Whatever she needs, I'm the person who is supposed to provide it for her."

But his co-workers at a UPS facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, found out. And last week, they decided to make things right.

They asked Lewis to come to a brief union meeting.

I don't understand how these stories get to local news outlets. Does someone call up and tell them this is about to go down? Just wondering.

This was originally a response to a comment on here, but I think it deserves to be reinforced.

It can be difficult to own a bike in a low income area. Sometimes, you're lucky enough to have extra space in your apartment or stairwell to store a bike, but if not, you have to lock it up outside with a bike lock.

Which, unfortunately, is no actual deterrent to bike thieves. I went through three bikes before I realized that I was wasting money that could be spent on bills or saved in the bank.

So, he probably thought about buying a bike, fuck, he probably had owned one at some point til somebody stole it.

I've found a value to convert:

11.0mi is equal to 17.7km or 92913.39 bananas
