sometimes we have to go somewhere

that's sad beyond belief

today we're here - it's hard to share

the overwhelming grief

we're dogs - we're Hap - suppose to be,

but this ones really hard

because our dog friends here, we see

out waiting in their yard

for boys, or girls, their humans - gone

they don't know where they went

stayed up all night, til light of dawn

long hours pacing spent

their families, home, are not the same

and nothing seems quite right

but they keep bringing up the name

of loved ones not in sight....

we tell our dog frens now's the time

the humans need us Strong

there's no way to get past the crime

to right this awful wrong

so we support our dog frens, too

their hearts are also broken

but love your families best you can

the way dogs do - unspoken

These pups are doing good work!

My daughter was shot at on Wednesday and survived because a janitor stopped her group that was running towards the shooter after he pulled the fire alarm. The culinary teacher pulled them into her classroom and hid 30-40 students in a small kitchen area off her classroom.

Edit: Here’s a news segment about the students that were saved by the custodian and culinary teacher. My daughter was in that group. My son was also at school that day, in a different building. He was ushered into the office by the principal and hid under a desk in the conference room with 40-50 other students.
