You cannot tell by the picture, but she has had a really tough life. Her grandmother and father were murdered in front of her when she was a little girl. They lost the house she grew up in and all their belongings. Eight out of eleven siblings died either in war or from starvation, including her 3 year old baby brother, whom she had helped raising. She’s had a lot of issues but I’m still amazed how well she turned out considering everything that has happened to her. Edit: she was born in Russia (USSR), she is wearing her brother’s uniform, who was killed in war. Edit 2: sorry didn’t mean to deceit anyone, I never stated she served in the war herself. However she was forced to work in war production since a very young age and I still consider her a war hero. Her grandmother and father were killed by the communist “government” in the process of confiscating all their belongings during collectivization, despite the fact that they had 12 kids who were left on the street, because they were considered “kulaks”. Edit 3: they were considered “kulaks” because they were farmers and occasionally hired seasonal workers to help with the crops.

What did she do as a 16 year old wearing that uniform? What nationality?
