Quite a few years ago I had to go through a hip and a year of PT, basically learning how to walk from scratch, before I first walked.
Birth joke aside, congratulations! May you never step on a Lego.

I had total hip replacement after a motorcycle accident about a year ago. It's not nearly as bad as I had thought and I'm sure you will be fine. I had some trouble getting off the pain meds, do be careful of that.
