It was fun to grow up in Illinois during the Jordan heyday. Basketball was full of exciting players.

My friend's older brother had a pair of Jordans he grew out of, so I asked him if I could have them. I was maybe eleven? And a girl. He was seventeen.

I put on ten pairs of socks so I could wear those huge shoes to school. Snuck 'em in my backpack so my mom wouldn't know. Looked completely insane, but I was so proud.
