In the creator commentary for the simpsons episode where Bart gets a second dog and says he won him in a truth telling contest 2 towns over, the creators discuss how the phrase "2 towns over" is the perfect plausible but just hard enough to verify phrase to keep anyone from looking into a claim. Not calling you a liar, I just think of that any time I hear the phrase.
