Great job. Learning minor repairs is very frugal.

Car-part.com for searching junkyard inventory. Rockauto.com partsgeek.com for cheaper than brick and mortar prices on new aftermarket parts

Did this with the latch keeping my gas door closed. My mom was fussing at me to go to the dealership, where it would have cost upwards of $150 for it! Found a YouTube video where the guy replaced it in five minutes. Bought the part for $8 off Amazon (with Prime of course) and replaced it in 15 minutes.

I was glad I waited half a year to replace it, because when I did it, the video came out a month prior.
