Oh, how lovely. I have tears in my eyes from that. I called my husband into the room to see it. Three Valentines ago, he bought me a Cedar Wax Wing print. Love them.
When I was a kid a baby cedar waxwing fell out of the nest. The mother was trying to drop down and feed it but it was in a busy park and wouldnt have lasted long. I took it home and fed it with a syringe without the needle on the end. It grew to be the best pet I ever owned. I named him Bandit.
We always left the cage door open and Bandit would come and go around the house as it pleased. We had budgies in another room and each day he would fly to their cage and go through an opening only he knew how to work. It would chill with them all day and chirp like a budgie. At night it would go back to his own cage.
Once he even flew outside by us accidentally leaving the front door open. We figured he was gone but he just flew back from the trees onto my finger and came back inside.
