My grandmother showed me a picture of herself as a teenager once, and looked at me expectantly. When I told her it was nice or something noncommittal, she said, "I'm wearing my brother's clothes!" To me it was just a cool outfit, pants, shirt, vest, nothing major. But was a big deal, and apparently quite risqué for her to do that.
Rebellious daughter here looks like she's wearing a man's hat. Gasp!
