I once accidentally left a brand new pint of my favorite ice cream on the counter for quite a while. All the good bits sunk to the bottom. That was the best upside down pint of ice cream I ever ate.
I'd imagine this would depend on other things like quality of ice cream (brand name etc), how it is packaged and what type of 'ice cream' for example the dairy content.

To be fair I'm always depressed when I buy a tub of ice-cream so I feel like I'd choose the tub that depresses so we have something in common.
