Love me some Art Deco. They always get a way of showing a sort of human strength and ingenuity without having only the sheer overwhelming feeling that Brutalist structures tend to have.

Super expensive these days to make however, hence why cheaper, simplistic, and minimalist designs seem to fair better. Such a shame really, since a lot of these designs and the buildings they produced really showed the height of beauty that I believe won't be eclipsed for a while. It's all subjective of course, but sometimes looking at blank concrete slabs gets tiring.

By the way, you referencing the 1927 German film Metropolis (or the 1925 german novel it was based off of) with that title?
