My dad passed away a few months ago. Yesterday I received a package in the mail he had saved for me with tickets from the first game he ever took me to. Needless to say, these are super special to me.

If you're going to get them laminated, please make sure they aren't printed on thermal paper... a lot of tickets use thermal printing, where the paper turns black under direct heat - they'll print all the standard designs in color, and then they can "print" variable text (opponent, date, seats, etc) using a heat printer and not pay for all that ink.

Most laminating machines use heat to seal the plastic layers together, and I've heard multiple horror stories of someone laminating a ticket with a lot of sentimental value and having it come out completely black.

In my (non-expert) opinion, this doesn't really look like most thermal paper tickets, but it would absolutely be worth making 100% sure before you take these anywhere near a laminating machine. If they're on thermal paper, or if you just want to play it safe, I would personally recommend using a frame (or a shadow box if you want to frame other Mariners mementos along with the tickets) with UV-protective glass.

We're a little late, but our deepest condolences OP. Those are some classic stubs—Edgar on the tickets AND a walk-off Edgar Martinez knock to win it. How does another game in 2018 sound? Maybe August 22nd vs. the Astros? We can't promise another 'Gar walk-off, but let's make it another win.
