- Talk about throwing romance out the window!

A new app may be coming to smartphones that allows you to consent to sex before going on date. The concept is called It's called LegalFling, and it involves a legally binding agreement.

Many things can go wrong when dating, and the app concept wants to facilitate some of that by protecting its users, before having sex. Criminal attorney Ross Richelsoph believes the app may work out for some people.

"Hopefully, it'll facilitate a conversation between couples about what they're interested in doing or not interested in doing," said Richelsoph.

LegalFling is the first Blockchain-based app to verify explicit consent before couples have sex, making the do's and don'ts clear to the both parties.

"It could help remove misunderstanding from sexual encounters," said Richelsoph.

The app records sexual consent in a legally binding agreement. A request for consensual sex is sent to a phone contact of the user's choice, the other person accepts it, and that person then clicks the heart for yes, or the "x" for no. They can also list their do's and don'ts, before going on a date.

"It's not going to be full proof," said Richelsoph. "They can still withdraw consent verbally. You still have to stop."

If something does go wrong, Richelsoph said this app could help you prove or disprove a claim.

"There's a lot more evidence when people are using these types of app," said Richelsoph.

"You should be careful who you engage in sexual intercourse with," said Richelsoph.

There's a lot of controversy involving the app. Currently, LegalFling is simply a concept. Its creators, however, hope to launch it for iPhones and Android devices.

I really want a lawyer to weigh in because every time they say “legally binding” my bullshit alarm rings.

I was going to make a joke about how it should use blockchain.

But it does.

"Before he raped me, he took my phone and clicked 'I agree.' on the app."
