Milne's Pooh stories are amazing and so fun to read, probably more so for the adult, unless kids were way smarter back then. The final one is absolutely gut-wrenching, I was bawling my eyes out when I finished. Luckily my daughter was asleep by that time cause I don't think I would have been able to explain.

His book of poems, When We Were Very Young, is also a lot of fun. I'd put it up there with Where the Sidewalk Ends.

Christopher Robin later came to hate the books and resented his father, believing has childhood had been exploited. He gave away the stuffed animals to the books' editor, who gave them to the New York Public Library.

"So they went off together. But wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest a little boy and his Bear will always be playing."
