Waco police were looking for a short, heavyset suspect Thursday after a teenager who hatched a plan to rob another teen ended up as the robbery victim.

The teenage victim arranged to meet with the second teen Wednesday evening at the Tennyson Middle School track at North 60th Street and Glasgow Drive on the pretense of selling him marijuana, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Thursday.

“The juvenile’s plan was to grab the potential weed buyer’s money and then outrun the heavyset customer, “Swanton said.

But things didn’t turn out quite as planned, he said.

The second teen pulled out a gun and robbed the would-be robber of his cellphone.

Police are looking for a boy who’s 15 to 16 years of age, weighs about 150 pounds and stands about 5-foot-2.

He’s black with light skin, has an Afro and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray shorts and running shoes.

The teenager turned victim was released to his grandparents, Swanton said.

Movie idea: this article, but then the robber gets robbed when he tries to fence the goods, losing both his personal and stolen property in the process. The next robber also gets robbed and so on, the collection of stolen items getting progressively larger and more valuable over the course of 90 minutes. Something, something, something, amazing ending, roll credits. It basically writes itself.
