For those wondering it was a gift from my grandfather. He knew people who were working on the bridge and had the knife made by a friend of his in Arizona who specialized in forging interesting knives. The man who made it has since died. So there's a chance this is one of a kind! Edit: I got in contact with my grandfather and the guy who made it's name was don Kemper. He lived in Washington state, not Arizona as I initially thought.

There is an episode of Man at Arms on youtube where they make a sword out of twisted cable, creating a damacus style blade. Was pretty neat.
