Love this. Spunk aside, your grandmom has such classic old person penmanship.

I work in I.T. and my technophobe dad will clip articles out of the Tech section of the paper for me. “Here you go, I found a list of the top ten antiviruswares for you.”

LPT: do this with your grandma (the mailing, not the finger thing)

My grandma kept having issues when we'd get together as a family. Like, my sister got a new house and emailed us all pictures. We all saw them and we're like, oh did you see her new house? Oh yeah... And continue to discuss it because it's part of our reality. I could tell this made my Grandma feel really left out.

So what I started doing was every time I got an appropriate email (this was 13+ years ago when people still sent emails more than social media) I would print it out and mail it to her. So you know all those cute kitten or puppy pics the internet is full of? Yeah, I'd print those and mail them to her. The other thing I did was call her at least once a week on my drive to night school.

I kid you not, those two things completely revolutionized our relationship. It repaired some issues we had with each other too. Total healing by puppy pics and small talk about our day. She died a couple years after that. It crushed me, but I'm so glad I did what I did.
